Here are publications by the organizers, educators and makers associated with the CivicLab.
This work is by co-founder Tom Tresser and lays out the reasons why creativity is essential to American democracy and prosperity and suggests that artists and other creative professionals have leadership qualities desperately needed in public life.
Tom was a co-organizer of the No Games Chicago campaign to defeat the bid for the 2016 Olympics. This book includes essays from the organizers and the texts of emails sent to the members of the International Olympic Committee on each of the 70 days preceding the October 2, 2009 decision in Copenhagen to award the 2016 games. This is the only published documentation of the the campaign and explanation of why we did what we did.
